Beautifying Your Home
Beautifying your home can be as simple as scattering some pretty bunches of flowers about. One of my absolute favourites is the Parrot Tulip, the name of my new online store. Parrot tulips are fringed, twisted and ruffled tulips embellished with vivid, flame-like splashes, stripes or feathery markings, appreciably more striking than your standard tulip.
Funnily enough friends have asked why I combined the bird and the flower in my name, well now you know!
When I have friends or family coming for dinner flowers are the first thing I rush out to purchase - before the food! I always place an orchid in the powder room, using my own vase, not the one it came in, from Coles! I find the Coles orchids last just as long as the orchids from the local florist. I will buy some moss from the florist to cover the roots, moss costs just a couple of dollars and it makes a big difference to the appearance. There will also be a bunch of flowers on the dinner table and another in a room that the guests will pass.
My personal faves include tulips, white or pink roses mixed with teddy bear magnolias, peonies, hydrangeas and the very pretty, blushing bride.
